Individual and Family
Individual Health
There are individual and family health plans available for those under 65 who do not have health insurance provided by an employer. We can help you find the right coverage for you and your family while staying within your budget. The Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as ObamaCare, allows you to enroll in a health plan through the insurance marketplace (also known as the exchange). The marketplace will also determine if you are eligible for any premium subsidies based on your income. There are many different options and levels of coverage available, and we work with all the major insurance carriers in the area to find the plan that is right for you.
Short Term Medical
Short-term health insurance coverage is designed to help those who need limited coverage for a short period of time. There are some significant differences in what is covered by short-term plans and comprehensive ACA plans. Most short-term plans cover emergency visits, some prescription medications, and some doctor appointments.
In most cases, these short-term plans do not cover treatment for pre-existing conditions, maternity care, and mental health. Short-term plans do not include the essential health benefits and protections you get with ACA plans. Many also have waiting periods when you first buy a plan and will not cover certain conditions during that time. These plans also usually have a plan coverage limit which is the maximum amount they will pay out in coverage for the policy.
